The Detroit Academy of Arts & Sciences is a tuition-free public school district open to Michigan’s children. With no admission test, DAAS serves a student body that is representative of Michigan diversity. In the event there are more applicants than seats, a waiting list will be developed. Students will be chosen on a first-come-first served basis as vacancies occur.
 
 
 
When enrolling your child, the following documents must be submitted in addition to the application:
 
  • Immunization Record (Vaccines must be current)
  • Vision & Hearing Screening (Incoming Kindergarten)
  • Birth Certificate (Original)
  • Report card from the most recent semester completed (grades 1-8)
  • Current Documentation of a Special Education Plan (IEP, 504, etc.), if appropriate
  • Parent/Legal Guardian Driver’s License or Photo Identification
  • Legal Documents showing proof of guardianship, custody court orders, etc. if appropriate
 
Returning DAAS Scholars: 
 
  • Log into your PowerSchool Parent Portal to access the re-enrollment documents. If you do not have your PowerSchool code, please email [email protected] and include your name, scholar(s) name and email address associated with the account.
