Special Student Services

The General Educational Support Process

Throughout a student’s academic experience, they may encounter certain learning challenges. To provide the necessary support to a challenged learner, our district has implemented a student referral process.

Our referral process incorporates the strategies and techniques of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). The vision of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Program at DAAS District is to utilize data-based problem-solving to integrate academic and social-emotional instruction and intervention for all scholars. This data-based decision-making approach seeks to ensure that we strategically leverage our school resources (curriculum, staff, scheduling, professional learning, relationships, etc.) to accelerate the performance of ALL scholars.

If your child is experiencing academic or behavioral challenges, you will be contacted and invited to be a part of this team. Your involvement, cooperation and support are imperative as we seek to establish a partnership that will make a difference for your child. The parent has the right to request an evaluation at any time.
